Clatasha Studio Chrome Extension
This Privacy Policy describes how Clatasha Studio ("the Extension") handles your information. Clatasha Studio is a browser extension for creating YouTube thumbnails, built to operate entirely offline without requiring any external services, accounts, or network connections. By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Data Collection
Clatasha Studio does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data whatsoever. The Extension operates entirely within your local browser environment and does not communicate with any external servers, APIs, or third-party services.
No user analytics, tracking pixels, cookies, or identifiers of any kind are used. The Extension has no knowledge of who you are, what websites you visit beyond its own editor page, or how you use the tool.
2. Local Storage
The Extension uses the Chrome chrome.storage.local API to save your work directly on your device. This includes thumbnail projects, custom text presets, custom fonts, and editor preferences.
All data remains on your local machine and is never sent anywhere. You retain full control over this data at all times and can delete it by removing the Extension through the Chrome extensions management page, which will clear all stored data.
3. Permissions
Clatasha Studio requests only the minimum permissions required to function:
storage — Used exclusively to save and load your thumbnail projects, presets, and preferences locally on your device.
activeTab — Used to access the current browser tab when opening the editor, allowing the Extension to launch its thumbnail creation interface.
No other permissions are requested. The Extension does not access your browsing history, bookmarks, tabs, or any other browser data beyond what is explicitly listed above.
4. Third-Party Services
Clatasha Studio does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party services. The Extension is designed to function completely offline, with no external API calls, no analytics providers, and no advertising networks.
The only external links present in the Extension are the voluntary donation options (Ko-fi, PayPal, and a Bitcoin address) provided for users who wish to support the project. These links are not activated automatically and require deliberate user action to open.
5. Children's Privacy
Because Clatasha Studio does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children, it is inherently compliant with children's privacy regulations such as COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
No data is collected, stored, or transmitted that could identify any user, regardless of age.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Extension's functionality or to comply with applicable regulations.
Any changes will be reflected in the latest version of this document available through the Chrome Web Store listing. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how your privacy is protected.
