📋 Step 1: The Clipboard
When you hire your first employee, you’ll receive a clipboard in the bottom-right corner of your screen. This is your management tool for assigning tasks, storage, and automation.
🛏️ Step 2: Assign a Bed
- Pull out your clipboard.
- Walk up to your botanist and press E to manage them.
- Assign them a bed by selecting it. (This bed will now be off-limits to you.)
- Their wage is $200/day. You’ll need to place money into the briefcase near their bed to pay them.
🌱 Step 3: Prepare Your Grow Setup
Before assigning tasks, make sure you have:
- ✅ Pots ready for growing
- ✅ A storage container filled with equal amounts of seeds and soil
This will be your botanist’s supply bin—they’ll pull from it when working.

- With the clipboard still active, select your botanist.
- Press E and then assign a supply source (the container with seeds & soil).
- Now, assign the grow pots:
- Hold Shift to select multiple pots (up to 8).
- Press Enter or Escape to confirm.
- The clipboard will now show these pots as active for the botanist.
🪴 Step 5: Set Pot Settings
You also need to configure each pot individually:
- Use your clipboard and click on the pots to manage them.
- Choose the type of seed you want (or leave it on “any”).
- (Optional) Add additives like fertilizer, PGR, or red grow. If you do, make sure to store those in the supply container.
- Choose a destination for the harvested product:
- You can split destinations across different pots to avoid overflow.
- For example, assign 3 pots to storage container A, and 3 to container B.
💵 Step 6: Pay Your Botanist
Once all tasks are set:
- Place money into the briefcase near their bed.
- Once paid, they’ll begin work immediately.
- They’ll automatically gather supplies, plant seeds, water, harvest, and store the goods in your assigned destination.

- You can use handlers to move the harvested products to mixing or packing stations.
