Marvel Rivals is gearing up for its highly anticipated Season 2: Hellfire Gala update, launching April 11, 2025. Developer NetEase Games has revealed new details, including the addition of X-Men’s Emma Frost, a fresh Krakoa-inspired map, and Ultron as a key antagonist.
What’s New in Season 2?
The Hellfire Gala update transports players to the Mutant nation of Krakoa, featuring lush botanical landscapes and dazzling fireworks. However, the event is soon disrupted by Ultron, whose arrival threatens the festivities.
Key additions include:

Emma Frost (Vanguard Role) – Available in the first half of Season 2

Major Gameplay Changes & Season Structure Update
For the first time, NetEase will tweak or remove certain team-up abilities, signaling major balance adjustments for Marvel Rivals. Players can expect these gameplay refinements to roll out throughout Season 2.
Additionally, starting with Season 3, Marvel Rivals’ season length will be reduced from three months to two months. Each season will now feature a new character release every month, ensuring a steady stream of fresh content to maintain player engagement.
