The social media platform X, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, experienced multiple service disruptions on Monday morning, leaving users frustrated as access remained unstable.
Previously known as Twitter, X has encountered occasional technical glitches in the past, but the latest wave of outages appeared to be more persistent than usual.
Reports of issues first emerged around 6 a.m. ET, with approximately 23,000 U.S. users flagging disruptions on Downdetector.com, a website that monitors service interruptions for major platforms. While access was restored for some, problems resurfaced a few hours later.
A second outage struck around 10 a.m., just as a larger number of users attempted to log in. Although services were gradually restored within 45 minutes, the reprieve was short-lived. By 11 a.m., users were once again reporting difficulties accessing the platform.
As of Monday afternoon, X had not provided any official explanation for the recurring disruptions.
