KRAFTON has quietly moved a new unannounced title into playtesting. Developed at PUBG Studios and internally dubbed Project Valor, the game represents a notable shift from what PUBG fans are used to.
What it is
Officially described as a console-focused battle royale built on Unreal Engine 5, Project Valor is being positioned around photorealistic graphics. In practice, early footage and tester impressions tell a different story. The gunplay feels noticeably arcadey compared to PUBG's punishing ballistics, and console builds feature heavy aim assist.
The Workbench system
Players collect scrap during matches to spend at an in-game Workbench, where they can buy or upgrade gear on the fly. Available purchases include tactical and lethal throwables, optics, ammo, medkits, pills, armor, and weapon attachments.
Blood Altars and ROMz
The biggest departure from PUBG's military realism is Project Valor's occult aesthetic. Maps feature cult-like environments built around Blood Altars, glowing candles, and towering constructions of branches and thorns. These aren't just decorative. Players interact with Blood Altars and mechanical Evangelist Machines to collect ROMz, retro-styled corrupted game cartridges branded as DED.NET ROMZ that grant game-changing abilities.
Two confirmed perks so far include Prankster, which lets players hack phones, booby-trap vehicles, doors, and containers, and see through enemy Feign Death abilities, and Peek-A-Boo, which reveals nearby enemies through walls at the cost of making the user equally visible to those same enemies.
KRAFTON has not officially announced the title. More details are expected as playtesting continues.
