PLAYSTATION 5 RECEIVES NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE

Adds new features and various general improvements.

Sony Entertainment has released a new software update for the PlayStation 5 system with several general improvements and new features. Below we leave you with all the details:

Audio improvements for the DualSense wireless controller's built-in microphone and speaker

We have updated the software for the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers to improve their sound characteristics. Control speaker improvements. The controller's speakers can now produce sound at higher volumes, allowing you to hear in-game sounds and voice chat audio more clearly. Improved noise cancellation. The microphone input quality of the controllers has been improved with a new AI machine learning model. Background noise from game audio and button presses is suppressed, improving the voice chat experience. Install the system software beta and update the controller software to experience clearer audio in voice chat when using the controller microphone. With this update, you may notice that the sounds made by the controller's speaker are louder. You can adjust the controller speaker volume from the control center. Players viewing a Screen Sharing session in full-screen mode can now use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host's game. Viewers can move a pointer, send a prompt, and draw a line on the shared screen, allowing them to highlight objects or areas to guide the host player more precisely. Viewers can send emoji-based reactions to the host's screen to visually cheer them on and celebrate their in-game actions. Note: This feature is available by default, but the host can disable it in the Screen Sharing settings. This month we will release an update to the PlayStation App that will allow viewers to enjoy these interactions on iOS and Android as well.
