Hey everyone! Today, I’m going to tell you exactly how to get the Abyssal Whip in Runescape Dragonwilds— including an easy cheese method to take down the Abyssal Demon without taking any damage… and the best place to farm Ram Horns so you can actually craft the whip.
🔪 Step One: Taking Down the Abyssal Demon
First things first — we need to slay the Abyssal Demon.
To find it, head to the left side of the Whispering Swamp. You’re looking for this rune-covered building — right here on the map.
Once you’re there, cast Windstep to jump up onto the roof of the building. And here’s the cheese:
👉 The Abyssal Demon can’t reach you while you’re up here.
Yep — it just stands there looking up at you like a sad NPC while you safely attack from above. Total breeze.
🧠 I have no idea if this is a bug or an intentional feature, but either way, you should do this ASAP before the devs patch it.
If you want to farm the boss, just switch worlds or bring in another character — loot resets. You can even set a lodestone here for quick farming runs.
📦 Step Two: Crafting the Whip
Once you’ve defeated the demon, you’ll get parts of the Abyssal Whip, but crafting it also requires an item called Ram Horns.
And here’s where things got tricky…
🐏 Finding Ram Horns (Not Leaves)
I scoured the internet — and the game — trying to find ram horns. I ran into sheep in the Fractured Plains and thought I hit the jackpot… until I realized those weren’t horns. They were leaves. Seriously.
Eventually, after about three hours of exploring, dying, and losing my mind — I found them.
📍 Rams spawn in the Stormtouched Highlands.
Be warned though — it’s a dangerous area. I should not be there with my current gear, but I made it work.
Once you get enough ram horns, head back to your base.
⚔️ Crafting the Abyssal Whip
You’ll need the demon drops, Ram Horns, and a Bolt Core. That’s it.
Once you have everything — boom, craft that whip. And let me tell you — this thing is a BEAST.
