Naughty Dog has just rolled out Update 2.01 for The Last of Us Part II Remastered, targeting a major bug on PlayStation 5 that caused progress loss for some players. If you’ve run into issues with missing unlockables or items, this patch is for you.
🛠️ What’s Fixed in Patch 2.01
This is a small but essential update with a single patch note:
Restores unlockable campaign items—including extra weapon holsters and skill points—that were lost when continuing from a save created before Patch 2.0.0.
To ensure your progress is fully restored, make sure you load your old save files before April 3, 2025, at 2 PM Brasília time. Naughty Dog cautions that playing with a save created after that time (without Patch 2.01 applied) may still result in lost unlockables.
🎮 No Return Mode Skins Issue Under Investigation
Naughty Dog also acknowledged reports of lost No Return mode skins—rewards earned before the 2.0.0 update. The studio is actively investigating this issue. If you’re affected, you’re encouraged to reach out to Naughty Dog support.
✨ In Case You Missed It: What Was in Update 2.0.0?
Released on March 28, Patch 2.0.0 introduced several enhancements, particularly for No Return mode, alongside overall gameplay and performance improvements. It was a major quality-of-life update for the game.
✅ Final Note
While Patch 2.01 might seem minor, it’s a crucial fix for players continuing their journey from earlier saves. Act before April 3rd to secure your unlocks—and stay tuned for further updates, especially if you’re experiencing issues with No Return skins.
