Season 5 of Rick and Morty will debut on Adult Swim in June
The fifth season of the Rick and Morty animated series for adults will debut this summer! Adult Swim has announced that the hit series will return with new episodes on June 20. Additionally, the network said the date will coincide with Rick and Morty Day . The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, which can be seen below. The Rick and Morty Day will give fans of the various advances series, movies and special surprises behind the scenes on TV, digitally and on social, kicking off the world premiere of the new season. The show stars Justin Roiland, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell and Spencer Grammer. The series was created by Dan Harmon and Roiland, who are also executive producers.
The one between seasons 4 and 5 will be one of the shortest intervals ever between seasons of the show. Season 4 premiered in November 2019 with five episodes, before the season ended in May 2020. Previously, season 3 aired in 2017, season 2 in 2015, and season 1 in 2013-2014.
Creator Dan Harmon in an interview last October revealed that the work on season 5 was not at all affected by the pandemic: “We are more punctual than we have ever been. In a way you have to focus on the whole process when you are more closed in an office. Everyone has to manage this bee colony remotely, so honey is produced more satisfactorily. It's working for us ” .
Harmon revealed a small preview of what we will see in the next season: “There is an episode in the fifth season where Morty is having an affair with another female character who is not Jessica. It's just a little story and my friend and longtime collaborator Rob Schrab wrote it . ”
