After a strong debut last March, InZOI, the life simulation game from Krafton (the creators of PUBG), has seen a sharp decline in player numbers as it celebrates its first month on sale.
๐ From 90,000 Players to Just 5,000
Initially, InZOI launched with a peak of nearly 90,000 concurrent players, positioning itself as a serious challenger to The Sims. However, enthusiasm has faded fast โ the game now averages around 5,000 players on Steam, a major drop from its early success.
Until now, Krafton had been relatively silent. That changed with the release of a heartfelt open letter to the community, addressing the rocky start and laying out a clear plan for more transparent communication.
๐ Krafton’s New Plan: More Transparency and Player Involvement
Game Director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim explained the situation candidly:
“We released InZOI in Early Access so we could share it with you sooner, even if it wasnโt perfect. Our goal has always been to build the game together with you.”
To strengthen this connection, Krafton is introducing several new initiatives:
- “Kjun’s Letter” โ A regular message from the director sharing development insights, responding to player feedback, and discussing broader themes beyond just patch notes.
- Monthly “Known Issues” Updates โ Krafton will publish lists of bugs and problems and prioritize fixes based on player reports.
- Previews and Q&A Sessions โ Before major updates, players will get sneak peeks at upcoming content and the chance to ask questions live.
๐ New Content and 2025 Roadmap Incoming
Starting Thursday, May 1, Krafton will kick off InZOI‘s 2025 roadmap with several exciting updates, including:
- Cheat codes to customize gameplay ๐ฎ
- New furniture and build options ๐๏ธ
- Dynamic body changes like weight and muscle growth ๐ช
- Four major updates planned for 2025, with another big expansion coming in 2026 ๐ฏ
Krafton clearly aims to turn things around by working hand-in-hand with players, but only time will tell if InZOI can regain its early momentum.
๐ฏ Final Thoughts
InZOI might have stumbled after launch, but with a renewed commitment to transparency and community feedback, there’s still hope for this ambitious life sim. Letโs see if Krafton can bring it back to life!
