Frustrated at not having been incisive during the fight with Molo despite training on Yardrat, Vegeta is looking for new sources of power to be able to return to the same level as Goku Ultra Instinct. Lord Beerus has come to his aid and is revealing the secrets of the Gods of Destruction of Dragon Ball Super .
In the prelude to the new story arc "Granolah the Survivor" we saw Vegeta reflect on himself and on the past of the Saiyans. As Beerus suggests, to match his eternal rival, the Prince must abandon his obsessions and put aside the pride that sets him apart. And after a show of strength, the God of Destruction finally routes Vegeta to the secrets of the Hakai .
In chapter 70 of Dragon Ball Super Vegeta finally begins his training with the techniques of the Gods of Destruction. But this power is difficult to master and the Prince can barely destroy small rocks. Apparently, the Hakai does not use ki like normal attacks and according to Beerus' words this power does not simply destroy an object, it erases it permanently from existence.
In classic ki strikes, when matter is destroyed it releases energy as a backlash from the destruction itself. But on the contrary, Hakai does not destroy, it leads to the cessation of existence. The explosion is therefore only the final result of this process.
By assimilating the concept, Vegeta is finally able to use the Hakai successfully , even if only on a small pebble. But this devastating power still seems to hide many secrets. Previously, in fact, we saw that the Hakai was used without a consequent explosion. Readers will learn more about the techniques of the Gods of Destruction as Vegeta learns them as well. Meanwhile, here's the terrible condition Granolah was subjected to in Dragon Ball Super chapter 70 .
